EXTRA ACTIVITY COSTS:

In your free time, if you want to take part in a chauffeured punting tour along the River Cam then it will cost approx £18.

DESTINATION INFO:

Cambridge is one of Britain’s most famous cities. It combines the atmosphere of a rural town with the grandeur and tradition of its ancient university which dominates the city. The university began in 1209, when fighting between scholars and locals in Oxford led to students setting up a university in Cambridge, and it’s now one of the world’s top universities. It has educated some of the world’s top minds including Charles Darwin, Alan Turing, and Stephen Hawking.

HIGHLIGHTS:

– Hike around the beautiful greenery of Cambridge, following the River Cam down through Grantchester Meadows.
– Explore the little streets and try some food in the historic market square.
– See King’s College and its stunning Gothic chapel, the most photographed building in Cambridge.
– See the colleges where Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking, and other notable people studied, and see Newton’s apple tree.
– Walk through the park where first official football game was played.
– See the golden Corpus Clock, worth over £1 million.
– Some free time where you can take a chauffeured punting boat ride along the river Cam and under the Bridge of Sighs, visit the beautiful university colleges, and climb up Great St Mary’s Church for panoramic views of Cambridge.

– As an organised group we can currently run day trips and hikes with up to 30 people.
– We are still required to follow Covid rules and restrictions laid down by the government, the NHS, the transport companies, and the places we visit. You are personally responsible so please stay aware of this.
– Please bring and wear a face mask where appropriate, maintain social distancing, and bring your own hand sanitiser gel and use this regularly throughout the day.

WHAT TO BRING:

– CLOTHING: It's always good to be prepared so we'd recommend always wearing footwear that is comfortable and supportive and suitable for walking/hiking on all terrain. The weather can change so bring some extra warm layers, a waterproof jacket, a hat and sunglasses, and it can be helpful to carry it in a light bag or rucksack.
– FOOD & DRINK: Bring a large bottle of water, and for hikes you should bring a packed lunch as we may have lunch somewhere scenic and away from shops.
