DESTINATION INFO:

Cambridge is one of Britain’s most famous cities. It combines the atmosphere of a rural town with the grandeur and tradition of its ancient university which dominates the city. The university began in 1209, when fighting between scholars and locals in Oxford led to students setting up a university in Cambridge, and it’s now one of the world’s top universities. It has educated some of the world’s top minds including Charles Darwin, Alan Turing, and Stephen Hawking.

HIGHLIGHTS:

– Visit some of the beautiful colleges of Cambridge University. – See King’s College and its stunning Gothic chapel, the most photographed building in Cambridge. – See the colleges where Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking, and other notable people studied, and see Newton’s apple tree. – Enjoy a chauffeured punting boat ride along the river Cam, through the grounds of the university buildings, and under the Bridge of Sighs. – Walk through the park where first official football game was played. – See the golden Corpus Clock, worth over £1 million. – Climb up to the top of Great St Mary’s Church to see the panoramic views of Cambridge. – Explore the little streets and try some food in the historic market square.

ITINERARY:

# 8.35am – We’re meeting by the entrance of the Wasabi sushi shop inside Liverpool Street Station, by platform 7. If you can’t find it then please ask the station staff where it is. Please arrive early and give us your full name and the £13 for the punting tour in exact cash. # 8.40am – We’ll leave the meeting point. Make sure you arrive well before this time. # 10.45am – We’ll arrive in Cambridge, and begin our guided tour. # 12.45pm – Lunch break at Cambridge Market Square. # 1.30pm – Meet at the main entrance of Great St Mary’s Church. It’s by the Market Square and opposite Senate House. Map: https://goo.gl/maps/rD8HT4UwrFqujPrj6 # 1.35pm – We’ll head to the river for a chauffeured punting boat tour. As we cruise along the river, the chauffeur will tell you about the culture and history of the university, and the architecture of the college buildings that we pass. This is one of the highlights of Cambridge and here we’ll see and pass under the famous Bridge of Sighs and the Mathematical Bridge. # 3pm – Free time to explore the city, visit attractions, museums, take photos, try local foods, and buy souvenirs. # 6.15pm – Meet by the M&S food store inside Cambridge rail station. Map: https://goo.gl/maps/duQgSBgGLe457KVq8 # 6.32pm – Train departs. # 7.43pm – We’ll arrive back at Liverpool Street Station in London. Then we’ll go for food and drinks nearby. Please bring your photo ID.

Please remember that your train tickets are for group travel, and you must travel in groups of 3 or more.
